Ear Mandible Lower Lip

Note what signs you see.
I (S. Kalynka, M.D.) see a right facial profile – the mandible or lower jaw is underdeveloped – micrognathia – the ear is not malrotated (as often seen in association with micrognathia) – the helix is underdeveloped and results in a prominent antihelix – tragus. See images of the patient including the contralateral ear (asymmetric).
PERSPECTIVE: The mandibular arches rarely fail to join in the midline. In this instance there is such failure associated with a smaller mandibular arch and ear anomalies (see patient).
