Ear Dimples – Creases and Railroad Track Sign

Note what signs you see.
I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see protrusions and creases on the ear lobule of two unrelated patients.
In addition, I also see a concurrent morphology of the antihelix suggestive of “railroad tracks” considered by some clinicians to be a signal of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder or FAS.
PERSPECTIVE: This sort of irregularities must trigger the suspicion of Beckwith Wiedemann syndrome (macroglossia-omphalocele, gigantism, hyperinsulinism, …) – see diagnoses gallery and patients’ galleries (patient 1, patient 2).
