I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see melanocytic pigmented macules (spots) that probably are a signal of a more generalized disorder, perhaps neurofibromatosis type (NF1).
PERSPECTIVE: examination of soles (think of soil, sandal, etc.) is most important. It is also a preferred location of neurofibromas. Symmetry and temperature should always be included in clinical examination.
