Palate Torus Tori

I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see two illustrations of palatal tori, in essence, an overgrowth of the palatal bone along its midline – often it represents the lack of modulations by the opposing tongue – noted in instances of hypotonia, microglossia, micrognathia, etc. NOTE that it is easy to mistake deep gaps separating palatal tori for a cleft of the hard palate.
