I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see a FASD facies – spectrum implies a wide range of concurrent anomalies and facies, in medical parlance implies a face that is a signal of a particular kind.
In practice, neonatologists can recognize FASD facies if their eyes are trained. It is critical that victims of alcohol teratogenesis be recognized early – early interventions to enhance developmental channels are most important.
