Iniencephaly Finger Contractures

Note what signs you see.
We (Drs. S. Kalynka and W. Wertelecki) see contracted fingers and a thumb overlapping the index finger. We suspect that the thumb-nail is narrow and hyperconvex – if so, the concurrence of the contractures, thumb-nail dysplasia and iniencephaly suggests the possibility of Patau syndrome (trisomy 13 or 13+).
PERSPECTIVE: Please see the gallery of images, video, and perspectives concerned with this patient and iniencephaly.
