Melanic Patches

Note what signs you see.

I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see multiple patches and few smaller melanocytic macules at the right side base of the neck.

PERSPECTIVE: this sort of skin anomalies is a sign that signals multiple disorders. It is fundamental to know that such lesions are congenital, grow in size or number post-natally and any sort of concurrent other anomalies in the patients or relatives. These signs are on a preferential location and  signal either neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), or a “Giant Congenital Melanocytic Nevus syndrome”, among other diagnosis.

Please also see the gallery of NF1 signs.
