I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see a mild degree of microtia (small ear).
PERSPECTIVE: It is always prudent to ensure that the external canal is present or not excessively narrow. Some studies of more severe instances documented a higher frequency in males (see another example). Associations with hearing deficit, renal anomalies, and malformation syndromes should be routinely suspected.
