Toes Dorsal

Note what signs you see.
I (N. Kamut, M.D.) see a dorsally positioned second curved toe (clinodactyly).
PERSPECTIVE: In the lack of additional information it is pertinent to indicate that such sign, relatively frequent, may represent a positional or a permanent feature. Perhaps, there is mild podal edema and if so, this may be consonant with a relatively short and broad toe nail. These two last questions the clinician should be able to clarify. If there is podal edema and if the contra-lateral toe nails are short and broad, this child, if a female, may be suspect of 45,X chromosomal constitution.
