PERSPECTIVE: 70-83% of angiokeratomas are solitary and warty, keratotic surfaces can be red-blue to black coloration. Often the initial stage is a papule that grows relatively quickly. The differential diagnosis includes melanocytic nevi, malignant melanoma, and other categories of nevi. Generally, they are modestly more prevalent among females, mostly located on the trunk and lower extremities and rarely located on the face. The accurate diagnosis is facilitated by “dermoscopy” (skin surface microscopy).
