Note what signs you see.
I see (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) a face with four concurrent signs (facial syndrome) or a facies in medical parlance. This facies my brain interprets as a signal of Down syndrome (DS). The arrows point to the signs that should be well-known to you (if not, please view the Dysmorphology Tutorial (a) or a related image.
This etching called “The Child of non-disjunction” by Dr. Josef Warkany also has historic value. Only after 1957 it became known that DS, for the most part is due to non-disjunction of chromosome 21 resulting in trisomy 21. Also because Dr. Warkany was an accomplished etcher and known as the founder of Modern Medical Teratology.
