Trepanation

I (W. Wertelecki, M.D.) see an artistic representation of a quack boring a hole in a skull (trepanation).
PERSPECTIVE: Why would I post such an image among signs of dysmorphisms? Because perhaps it will induce clinicians and parents to remember that it is critically important to palpate the cranial sutures of every newborn and developing infant. Even more so if the child has deformations of the skull (plagiocephaly).
This image is interpreted by some as representative of narrow-mindedness (the funnel and the closed book) and the blessing of ignorance by religious nuts.
